I am not 100% sure about how I met Iztok Franko, but I know I started to follow him a few years ago, after joining Air Europa. I did it because he shares a lot of interesting resources about the airline (and tourism in general) industry.

One of them is his podcast, where Iztok interviews different people from the airline, travel, digital and experimentation world.

A couple of months ago, I had the honor of being interviewed by him to share some of the things I have learnt  working at Air Europa. Iztok titled the episode “Step-by-step Evolution of Airline Digital Optimization and CRO Team [Air Europa Case Study]”.

I spoke of how I joined Air Europa in 2017 and how my role and the situation of the digital area has changed since then. During the interview, I explained the different stages I have gone through since the beginning, when I was a one-man army, doing multiple kinds of tasks, until now where my main challenge is leading a team of 12 people to achieve ambitious sales goals.

If you think it sounds interesting, check out the interview 🙂

On the other hand, another great example of Iztok’s contribution is the yearly Airline Industry Digital Benchmarks report, edited yearly since 2018. It is based on a survey that investigates the development of the digital optimization processes and key challenges airline professionals face in their digital and conversion optimization efforts.

The survey represents the views and insights of 55 carriers and the questions are related to different topics such as digital team setup, digital optimization skills, user and UX research activities, digital analytics, or experimentation & A/B testing.

In addition, it provides you with a step-by-step framework and maturity models that can help you learn how you can develop and improve your airline digital optimization process.

This year, Iztok thought it would be interesting to include some of my answers from his podcast interview as part of it.

Some of my answers included in Airline Industry Digital Benchmarks

If you are interested in the airline industry or just in the digital and ecommerce fields, I suggest you download it and take a look. I think you will find the information to be very valuable, regardless of your industry.

Finally, I would like to end this post by giving thanks to Iztok for the opportunity to be interviewed, and for sharing this amazing content during all this time.
